Product Description
Grade A335 P22 is a specification for seamless ferritic alloy-steel pipe designed for high-temperature service. These tubes are engineered for demanding applications involving high-pressure and high-temperature environments, particularly in power plants and petrochemical facilities.
ASTM A335 P22 seamless boiler tubes deliver exceptional performance in power generation, petrochemical processing, chemical plants, industrial boilers, oil and gas operations, and marine applications. Their superior resistance to high temperatures and corrosive environments ensures long-term reliability in the most challenging conditions.
Within petrochemical plants, A335 P22 pipes perform a core function, akin to "arteries," and are widely used in the construction of hydrocracking units, catalytic cracking units, ethylene cracking furnaces, and process piping for various fired heaters. These units operate under extremely severe conditions, where the pipes transport high-temperature, high-pressure, and sometimes corrosive hydrocarbon-hydrogen mixtures, steam, or other process fluids.
The alloy combination of approximately 2.25% Chromium (Cr) and 1% Molybdenum (Mo) in P22 material provides exceptional capabilities: Molybdenum (Mo) significantly enhances the pipe's elevated temperature strength and resistance to creep rupture, ensuring structural integrity under long-term stress; while Chromium (Cr) imparts superior resistance to oxidation and sulfidation corrosion, effectively protecting against degradation from high-temperature flue gases and certain corrosive media in the process environment. This greatly extends the equipment's service life and ensures the safety and continuity of the production process.
